BRANKO CULINA; ROCKDALE’S NEW COACH & FOOTBALL DIRECTOR

The Rockdale City Suns FC are pleased to announce Branko Culina has been appointed as the Club’s Football Director and First Grade Coach.

Branko Culina needs no introduction to football followers in this country.

His experience and knowledge is second to none and the Club is very fortunate to have someone of his calibre to lead the Club’s football programs.

Branko will lead the First Grade team and implement and develop programs and structures across all of the youth grades to help players develop and maximize their chances of becoming professional footballers.

One of only a few career coaches in this country, Branko is the longest serving coach of both Sydney Olympic and Sydney United in the old NSL and also a multiple championship winner with a number of teams during his career.

After the demise of the NSL, Branko was the Football NSW Technical Director for a number of years before coaching Sydney FC where he led the team to a very successful Asian Champions League tournament before moving on to coach the Newcastle Jets leading the team to the finals in 2010/2011.

Branko will be assisted by Ivan Petkovic, who himself also needs no introduction to football followers, having previously coached first grade in the NSW Premier League, was the Assistant Coach at Newcastle Jets and enjoyed a successful career as a player both in Europe and Australia.

The Club’s youth Technical Director for season 2013 is Sash Trajcevski.

Sash is a former NSL player and Rockdale first grade player. He brings enthusiasm and passion and after a 12 month spell as First Grade Assistant Coach is ready to leave his mark overhauling and implementing structures in the Club’s youth set up.

Sash is the holder of an AFC C license and is well equipped to implement programs specifically devised for the key development age groups.

Turning to the under 20’s, Justin Bucciarelli returns following a successful season which saw his under 20’s team reach the semi finals.

Well qualified and with a wealth of experience he has been responsible for assisting the development of a number of players allowing them to move up to the first grade and A-league youth ranks.
