JUNIORS SHINING BRIGHT!

Posted on 23rd May 2011 @ 3:41 AM

On behalf of the Club, congratulations to the group of our Under 6 and 7 players who represented the Club so well at the recent Hills Hawks FC Gala Day on 15 May 2011.

We were thrilled to hear that we came away victorious in two out of three categories at the event.

Our Under 6's were undefeated, playing five games and scoring 38 goals. Pictured below are members of our victorious Under 6 side with their coach.

SYDNEY CUP RESULT 22 MAY 2011

Secondly, congratulations to our Under 12A team who yesterday defeated Dubbo 3-1 in the second round of the Sydney Cup. The team had to back up from playing a competition fixture on Saturday before making the long drive to Dubbo. They now proceed to the third round.

The game itself was an enticing affair with Rockdale putting the pressure on the home team straight from the kick-off, numereous

chances were created with Rockdale showing no signs of fatigue after such an arduos trip. Captain Jonathon Stojanovski got the ball rolling

with a well struck corner that evaded all defenders and into the net which lifted the team no doubt. The chances did not end there with pressure handed to

the home team by Hady Hussien, Jake Dimovski and Alex Dimovski in the first half. The domination was not converted into goals and against the

run of play dubbo equalised half way through the first half. The boys put the disappoint of conceding aside and created a half -time lead with a well taken goal by Alex Dimovski,

thanks largley to the great work done by Micheal Ivanovski.

Dubbo started the second half with determination however the Rockdale backline was well marshelled by Michael Watson and Kristian Angelkoski.

In the 15th minute of the second half Rockdale put the game beyond reach with another well struck corner that resulted in a goal from Jonathan Stojanovski that even eclipsed the first effort.

A fourth goal was there for the begging with Brandon Kociski hitting one of our own players in the back of the head with his goal bound effort after a nice volley.

The game ended at 3-1 to cheers of jubilation and the customary victory song after the final whistle.

Well done to the boys and best of luck in the third round against Fraser Park.
